Knob Noster Public Schools is proud to announce Mr. Charlie Bohn as the district’s new Food Service Director. Mr. Bohn replaces Mrs. Jaynee Sader who recently transitioned to serve as School Protection Officer for the district.
Mr. Bohn has served in Knob Noster Public Schools for the last seven years in various capacities including as a Bus Driver in the Transportation Department and as a handyman in the Maintenance/Custodial Department. In all roles, Mr. Bohn has established a reputation as an engaging team player, who is well respected among his teammates. As a resident of Knob Noster since 1996, Mr. Bohn is a familiar face within the community, both on and off base.
Prior to joining Knob Noster Public Schools, Mr. Bohn was employed with the Defense Commissary Agency from 1993 until 2017 where he served in different levels of management at Scott AFB and Whiteman AFB, concluding as Store Director at Richards-Gebaur. Mr. Bohn was employed in the food service industry for ten years with St. Louis-based companies who were eventually acquired by U.S. Foods. His diverse and lengthy experience in each of these roles aligns directly to the management, procurement, meal planning, and governmental reporting responsibilities of the Knob Noster Food Service Director.
In this new role, Mr. Bohn will be responsible for a team of over a dozen food service professionals and will look to continue the quality services provided to students and faculty while also bringing a fresh perspective to enhance the program. The Knob Noster Board of Education made the commitment to bring the food service program back “in-house” in 2017 after a five-year period in which the program was outsourced. Mr. Bohn’s professional experience and his strong local relationships align well to the Board’s ongoing goal of maintaining both control and discretion regarding how the district operates its food service program.
“We are grateful for Mr. Bohn’s decision to accept this role and excited that we were able to find someone with his level of experience in the area of food service right here within our team. His existing network of relationships that he holds in the district and on base will be invaluable as he continues to recruit and retain teammates and as he engages with families. We look forward to his impact on our already successful program, and we are especially excited about how he will engage to support our existing standout team of dedicated individuals in this department,” said Dr. Jerrod Wheeler, Superintendent of Schools. “His experience, expertise, and long-standing commitment to our students and community make him a true asset to the district in this role.”
Please join us in congratulating Mr. Charlie Bohn as he begins this new chapter supporting the nutritional needs of our Panther students, staff, and families.
