Knob Noster Announces New KNHS Girls Wrestling Head Coach

Knob Noster Public Schools is pleased to announce that Ray Stockdale has been selected as the girls wrestling head coach at Knob Noster High School for the 2023-2024 school year, where he holds the distinction of being the longest standing winning coach in school history. With his extensive coaching experience and track record of success, Stockdale is expected to lead the girls wrestling program to new levels of success in the coming seasons.

Stockdale coached wrestling at Knob Noster High School for 27 years and has earned a reputation as one of the most successful coaches in the state of Missouri. He has coached multiple state champions and his teams consistently finished among the top in the state.

"We are thrilled to have Ray Stockdale as our girls wrestling head coach," said the school's Athletic Director Mark Carey. "His track record of success speaks for itself, and we have no doubt that he will continue to build upon the strong foundation that he has already established here at Knob Noster High School."

As the girls wrestling head coach, Stockdale will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, including practices, competitions, and wrestler development. He will work closely with the school's athletic department to ensure that the girls wrestling program remains competitive and successful.

“It just doesn’t get any better than this,” Knob Noster Superintendent Dr. Jerrod Wheeler said. “ As we continue to assemble a world-class team of educators in Knob Noster Public Schools, it is a pleasure to have this opportunity to welcome back Coach Ray Stockdale…a true icon for Missouri wrestling!”

The entire school community is looking forward to seeing the continued success of the girls wrestling program under Coach Stockdale's leadership.

"I'm excited to take on this new challenge and work with the talented group of athletes here at Knob Noster," said Stockdale. "I have always been passionate about wrestling and helping young athletes reach their full potential, and I look forward to continuing our tradition here at Knob Noster."
