KNPS Names New KNMS Assistant Principal

Knob Noster Public Schools is pleased to announce that Mr. Zachary Maxon has been selected to serve as the next assistant principal of Knob Noster Middle School.

Mr. Maxon grew up in Warrensburg and graduated from Warrensburg High School. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History in 2011, a Master’s Degree in Teaching in 2015, and a Specialist Degree in Secondary Administration in 2020, all from the University of Central Missouri.

Mr. Maxon currently serves as the Principal of Holy Rosary, a Pre-K-8 school in Clinton. He began his teaching career in 2014 at Reese Education Center in the Warrensburg School District. Mr. Maxon served as the Social Studies/Communication Arts teacher in the Gateway program at Reese. It was through his time at Reese that Mr. Maxon received extensive training in Trauma Informed Schooling and Restorative Justice Practices. His school team led professional development in the Warrensburg School District and surrounding districts over Trauma Informed and Restorative Justice teaching strategies. Mr. Maxon also worked with members of the community to build a service learning Leadership Program that worked to strengthen ties between the students and community and teach students employable skills.

When asked to serve as Knob Noster Middle School assistant principal Mr. Maxon stated, “I am beyond excited about joining a great team at Knob Noster Middle School and to be a part of the best school district in the area! I feel privileged for this opportunity to serve the Knob Noster and Whiteman communities and look forward to building positive relationships with our students and their families. I can’t wait to help our team at the middle school continue to lead students toward high levels of success!” 

Principal of Knob Noster Middle School, Mrs. Julie Andrade shared, “We are excited to welcome and get to know Mr. Maxon at Knob Noster Middle School. His background in Trauma Skilled teaching will serve him well in his role as Assistant Principal, and we look forward to learning from him.”

Mr. Maxon and his wife, Misty, reside in Warrensburg and have two children, August (8) and Charlotte (5). Mrs. Maxon is a K-12 Art teacher in Leeton. Mr. Maxon will officially take over as assistant principal of Knob Noster Middle School on July 1, 2021.
