WASHINGTON, D.C.  — The Association of Defense Communities (ADC) has elected Dr. Jerrod Wheeler, a Knob Noster, Mo. resident to its Board of Directors.

Jerrod is the Superintendent of Schools for Knob Noster Public Schools (KNPS). KNPS is one of the nation’s 26 heavily military impacted schools, serving a 70% military-connected student population. He also serves as the Vice President for the Whiteman Area Leadership Council and the Whiteman Area Community Council, which supports Whiteman Air Force Base. Dr. Wheeler is committed to the opportunity, importance, and urgency to unify efforts in support of military students. He was recently appointed to Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler’s Military Affairs Committee specifically to represent military-child education.

“We are excited at the opportunity to have Jerrod join our board of directors,” ADC President Bob Ross said. “He brings valuable experience that will enhance the mission of our organization.”

The Association of Defense Communities builds resilient communities that support America’s military. We are the connection point for leaders from communities, states, the military and industry on community-military issues and installation management to enhance knowledge, information sharing and best practices. With nearly 300 communities, states, regions, and affiliated industry organizations, ADC represents every major defense community/state in the nation.

Jerrod was elected to the board of directors during ADC’s 2021 membership meeting on April 13.
